The brief: Highlight the benefits of an evening workshop.

Companionship is foundational to a good life – sharing our joys and sorrows with those who love us and choose our company.  People with disability sometimes miss the opportunities to give and grow that come with friendship because opportunities to initiate mutual relationships with new people are limited.

Building Context for Relationships is an evening online workshop that can help you learn how to bring people with disability together with others who share their interests, and open up pathways to friendship.

Join this workshop to:

  • Identify interests that can provide a foundation for friendship.
  • Learn to think big about where opportunities for friendship could be found
  • Develop strategies that move a person from spectator to teammate within a group
  • Expand opportunities for the person with disability to develop relationships they choose, not just those they require

Our Speaker

Janet Klees has spent  many years listening to and learning from people with disability, to develop and refine the strategies she will share in this workshop.  She is the Executive Director at Durham Association for Family Resources and Support – a Canada based resource and support centre for families interested in building good lives in community for and with their family members with disability.

Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who wants people with disability to experience a full and rich life. This includes people with disability, their families, friends and other supporters, and community members.

Cost: This is a free event.
